Seasonal shifting of pressure belts
Web19 Mar 2024 · Pressure belts are regions on the surface of the Earth occupied by high or low-pressure cells. These belts of pressure are not meant to be there indefinitely. They tend to shift through time with the noticeable movement of the sun. They fly south in the winter and north around the summer in the northern hemisphere. WebAs a result of seasonal changes in pressure and wind circulation, marked seasonal contrast between continental and maritime influences—the first associated with drought and cold and the second with moisture and heat—is to be found in the whole of the western Pacific from the Sea of Japan southward.
