Pla thickness
WebbFused Deposition Modeling is one of the plastic 3D printing processes with the highest dimensional accuracy. Dimensional accuracy doesn’t relate to the detail of your model but to the deviation from the nominal size. The general tolerance of the material we offer is 0.1% with a minimum of ± 200µ. WebbEven though PLA has an impressive tensile strength of about 7,250 psi, the material does tend to be a little brittle in special circumstances. That means it’s a little more likely to break or shatter when placed under a powerful impact. It’s also important to note that PLA has a relatively low melting point.

For purely cosmetic shells, a thickness of 0.8 mm will often suffice. Because the ideal wall thickness is defined in terms of the wall's function within a model structure, some skill is required in selecting this property.
